About Us

The coaches and players of ROCK Gold VA are thrilled to be part of Rick Waye’s rich tradition of softball excellence.

Our Virginia-based teams pride themselves in competing to be the best we can be, teaching and playing softball the right way, preparing athletes to be successful both on and off the field, and growing a TEAM>ME mindset.

From our beginning in the fall of 2015, our Northern VA founders, Ryan Buchanan and Shane Sherlund, set off on a mission to create opportunities through sport for the young ladies in our game who had high goals and the desire to put the work in to achieve them. History has proven them successful in that effort.

We believe that the young ladies in our program are valued as people first, and then as students and athletes.

To date, our program has already helped over 50 young women to commit to collegiate softball programs in their continuing efforts to advance their academic and athletic endeavors. We are very proud to be able to say that we have a proven track record of helping EVERY athlete who has graduated with us find a college program that includes continued softball opportunity.

ROCK Gold VA has teams of all ages and is always available to discuss any potential interest on the part of those who love the game and want to be successful at the next level.
